Eddie Vedder - Into The Wild

Proprio ieri parlavo di voci. Di belle voci. A volte ce ne sono alcune che invecchiando diventano ancora più speciali. O come un vino d'annata prendono un sapore buono, forte, deciso. Eddie Vedder è stata una delle voci più significative della mia generazione, Cobain permettendo, e questo suo primo episodio solista altro non fa che confermarla come tale. Non si tratta di un esercizio di stile, nemmeno di un'opera di mero mecenatismo musical-cinematografico, quanto di una bella prova di idee appuntate su 6 corde e chiuse in una valigia da viaggio che Kerouac descriverebbe impolverata su una strada deserta e assolata. La sabbia e l'asfalto, un viaggio, l'idea di libertà, di fuga che avvolge e disegna l'intero album non tradisce affatto la vena artistica quanto mai genuina di Eddie.
E che questo non sia un album dei Pearl Jam è chiaro.
Ma canzoni come Far Behind, Rise (suonata con l'adorato ukulele), e Setting Forth altro non sono che la dimostrazione di quanto sia importante Vedder nella band di Seattle.
Into The Wild è una colonna sonora che vale molto di più della sua stessa denominazione ma un pò meno di un album, e che nonostante l'eccessiva sintesi si dimostra in se compiuta.
Per chi è debitore e fedele alla magia della voce di Eddie, questo capitolo della sua storia di certo non può che incuriosire e forse un pò anche stupire.
